Written & Directed by
JR Burningham
Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, JR was a huge fan of big
blockbuster movies, and he dreamed of some day being one of
the storytellers behind them. As an undergraduate majoring in
Computer Engineering and Computer Science, JR turned to literature, creative writing,
and storytelling as an escape from the mathematical world of his
academics. This revived his passion in storytelling and he found himself heading down a path pursue
filmmaking at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Since starting at USC, JR discovered himself quickly moving up the ranks in the directing program. In the fall of 2006, JR
was one of only two students in the entire school to be selected as the writer and director of a film financed by the school. There has not since been a student who has been given both of those priviledges. JR has also written top-rated scripts at USC, produced three thesis films, and recently won the distinguished national Film & Fiction Scholarship from IHS along with the Cinema Circulus Scholarship at USC.
Currently, JR is prepping a number of projects he will write and direct, while being contracted to write a feature-film for a producer who intends to launch her career with him.
JR is currently seeking representation.

Brett went to UC Berkeley pursuing a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology
but changed his mind one day in Lab. He left the lab and immediately went to
the degree office and changed his major to be a double degree in Film Studies
and Business. He came down to LA in the Summer of 2001 to learn editing and
has cut films ever since. He taught many of the instructors at UC Berkeley how
to use the editing programs and made some college films of his own.
In his senior year, Brett landed a job working in editorial with George Lucas on
Star Wars Episode 3. He worked on the film for a year and a half and
learned much from George, the editors Ben Burtt (also the sound designer) and the
producer, Rick McCallum.
He then came to USC to pursue an advanced degree in film Directing.
This summer, he got a job working as an assistant editor to James Cameron on
his new film, Avatar. He cut for him and was his go-to guy with the Avid.
Brett really likes making films that are dark with a warm heart. He is also very involved with
animation techniques and the furthering of digital cinema.
